Taghkanic
Taghkanic is about forty square miles of former Livingston Manor land on either side of the Taconic State Parkway, its 1,200 or so residents spread among the hamlets of Taghkanic, West and East Taghkanic, Churchtown and New Forge. Lake Taghkanic State Park sits on the southern town line, the parkway's Route 82 exit has been the town's front door since 1957, and the dairy and orchard country of the last century now holds a good share of second homes.
