Rhinebeck
Rhinebeck is a village of about 2,700 laid out where Route 9 crosses Market Street, with the Beekman Arms taking guests on that corner since 1766 and the Starr Library, shops and restaurants within a few blocks of it. Rhinecliff and its Amtrak station sit two miles west on the Hudson, the town hosts the Dutchess County Fair, and an 84-bed hospital with a round-the-clock emergency department lies inside the village line, which is much of why it works as a year-round address rather than a weekend one.
