Red Hook
Red Hook is a Route 9 village incorporated in 1894, its old nickname of Hardscrabble kept alive by an annual town celebration, with the wider town's farmland and river estates running west to the Hudson and Bard College at Annandale-on-Hudson. Town hall, village hall, the public library and the Hannaford all sit along South Broadway within a few blocks of one another, and Northern Dutchess Hospital is five miles south in Rhinebeck.
