Amenia
Amenia is a Harlem Valley farm town of roughly 3,800 people on Route 22, where the Metro-North Harlem Line ends at Wassaic and the Harlem Valley Rail Trail begins a mile north of that platform. The Wassaic Project shows contemporary art in Maxon Mills, a seven-story former grain elevator; Troutbeck keeps a 250-acre estate hotel on Leedsville Road; and Noah Gridley's charcoal kilns still stand at the foot of Deep Hollow Road, the last structures of the town's iron industry.
